How I Feel About Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was an English playwright during Elizabethan times. He has written several plays and sonnets that have stood the test of time. He is considered by some, to be, arguably, the best writer that ever lived.

With that said, I do enjoy some Shakespeare. I don't read his plays in my spare time, but I do not dread reading them when they come up in school work. He is a great writer and reading his works helps improve your vocabulary, simply because the characters in the play are normally using these outrageous phrases. You really need to get into the mindset of the time to understand them. His writing helped define the English language as we know it today, and without his influence, I think the English language, and the progression of literature would be in a drastically different place.

Overall, I think Shakespeare's works are pretty good. They aren't too hard or too easy. They are great pieces of writing. I mean, they stood the test of time for a reason.
